Flooring..cont..

May 2010:
Our neighbor came over one Saturday morning and in just 5 hours, the 2 of them finished a whole room. They were kicking butt!

Note: Curved walls make it hard to install floors.

Floors!

May 2010:
Now that the painting is done upstairs, the next step is to install the hardwood floors! We bought this hardwood floors last summer at an auction.

This is a closet in one of the bedrooms!

First, you put down roofing tar paper.

This is the super cool flooring nailer that we are borrowing from a friend.

Ethel the elephant is such a help!

Closet done!

Upstairs Guest Bathroom

May 2010:
While Kristi was painting, Adam was working on our first guest bathroom! We got the beautiful tile, vanity, and medicine cabinet all from Lowes! I think it turned out beautiful!

Adam tiling...Notice where the toilet is supposed to go???

New vanity!!

Painted light beige!

Now, notice where the toilet is now??
Tile is done. Just have to clean and seal it!

After the faucet was put in.

Painting

May 2010:
After everything was sanded, it was time for KRISTI to paint! I painted the living room upsatirs the same color as downstairs. Two of the bedrooms are a very light green in color, and the 3rd bedroom is a light aqua in color!

This room is the light aqua color.

Same room, different wall

Living Room, Rocky Mountain Sky!

The one picture of Kristi painting. Do you like my ladder?

Drywall, Sanding, Mudding, Painting..AGAIN!

April 2010:
Does this stuff ever end? After completely ignoring the upstairs for the last year, we decided to start working on it. The upstairs is our extra bedrooms and bathrooms. We have family coming up to visit in June for my sister's wedding, and we were hoping to have enough done on the house so they would be able to stay with us.

The upstairs had all the drywall up, but not much of it was mudded or sanded. So, we had to start kicking butt!

This is our bathroom upstairs! I guess the tub gave that one away!

Closet!

March 2010:
Just in time for Kristi's birthday, her closet was just about finished. She is loving her new closet! For months now, we were living out of one dresser, laundry baskets, and hanging clothes from random places in the house.

This is where Adam was hanging his work clothes BC (Before closet)
So, he decided to build a closet

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Addition

February 22, 2010.

I just had to put this in here. :) Adam and I expanded to our little family back in February. After much thought, we named him Carlos!!!!!!!!! We love Carlos! He is a 2007 Acura TL.

New Faucet in Tub

March 2010:
We got a new faucet (Guess what kind of faucet?) for the the tub? Yay for running water!!!

WOW!!!!!!

I can not believe I have not posted anything since January. I was just thinking the other day, is it really May already? Wow...this year is going by fast. I am going to try to backtrack.

February 2010:
Apparently, not much happened this month as I was looking back through my pictures.
We did tile around the bathtub in our master bathroom. This really makes the bathroom look beautiful. I can't wait until I can take a bath in it!

Our lovely kitchen

January 2010:

This is one of the few things we have done in the last month. We brought our stuff that was in our cabinets in the other house to the new house. We had fun trying to organize the new cabinets. We had so much space, we didn't know what to do with it all. It is fun to go grocery shopping, and then come home and put everything away. Here are some pictures I just took of the kitchen. It is starting to feel like a home---what a great feeling!
-Kristi

A view from by the back door of the kitchen.

Another view of the kitchen. Do you notice the countertop on the island?
That wasn't there before. We will eventually put 3 or 4 barstools under there
use it as a place to eat.

This cabinet is to the left of the sink. The bottom cabinet is pretty sweet.
Those shelves with the cans swing open, and you can put more stuff behind it.

Another view of the kitchen. Now, I am standing in the corner with the fridge on one side and the dishwasher on the other. You will notice that the countertops next to the stove still need stained. Also, the walls by the backdoor and window still needs some sanding and painted.

Another view of the kitcehn with the dishwasher. I love having a dishwasher and a garbage disposal, it makes doing the dishes so much more enjoyable.

Our fridge and microwave.

There is my banana holder. I love that thing. Haha!

Kraftmaid cabinets are awesome! This one has a spice rack in it.

This cabinet is below our sink. The top one tilts out, and has a space to put sponges in. I don't really know what to put in that thing that is connected to the door yet. Maybe some time of cleaning stuff.

Our freezer is awesome. It opens on the bottom and has that top drawer that slides in and out.

Fridge all opened up with yummy food.

Our pantry cabinet. So much room! As you can see, to the right of this picture is the living room. Not even close to being done yet.

Even though the kitchen looks done, there is still some minor things to do---backsplash, cabinet door holders, painting the ceiling, taking the cover off the vent hood, finishing the backwall. Not to mention, buying a kitchen table and chairs, and window covers and such.
