It's official! We have ordered the kitchen cabinets! We bought them at Lowes! I am really excited! We worked with this cabinet designer for a good week or so, to get them exactly how we wanted. It is nice to see a picture of what our kitchen is going to look like. We will have praline colored maple cabinets. If I can figure out how to get that picture on the computer, I will.

First Inspection
August 31, 2009:
The guy from the permit office came to do his 1st inspection on the house (plumbing, electrical, misc.) today. Adam wasn't really expecting to pass on the first try, because no one ever does. It is their job to find something wrong with what we did, so we weren't suprised when there was a few things we had to fix. However, what we had to fix was not bad at all. He even said we were okay to blow the rest of the insulation (around the windows), and to hang drywall everywhere except in one spot (where we had to rearrage some PVC pipes. ). We were so excited about that! Now, we need to get a good team together to help us with the drywall. If anyone would like to help, we sure would appreciate it! We are hoping to start hanging drywall this weekend. (Labor Day Weekend).
Slacking on Pictures
August 09:
I didn't take too many pictures this month, because it is mostly a bunch of little things that we have been working on. These things are harder to notice than "putting up a wall." But they are all equally as important as Adam has been trying to get everything done to get ready for the inspection on August 31st.
Also during this month, Kristi has been shopping for tile and cabinets. We actually designed and picked out our cabinets at Lowes. We wanted to wait until our inspection was done to officially buy the cabinets. He gave us a print-out of what our cabinets will look like. It is very exciting to be able to picture what our kitchen will look like some day. Picking out the cabinets was a lot easier than the tile. She is still working on that.

Tile, Hardwood Floors, and More Tile..AHHH!!
July and August 09:
SO MANY CHOICES!! The last month I have been in charge of finding tile and hardwood floors for the house. I can not belive how many choices there are. It is extremely overwhelming. I really want to make good choices, especially since we have to live with this for the rest of our lives. I just wish I were more "creative" or had more ideas! I just want to make sure it looks nice. If any of you have any good suggestions for me, just let me know! I would greatly appreciate it!
This is our backroom in our current house. Samples everywhere!! AHH!
A Weekend of Electrical Work
End of July 09:
Adam & Pete Farrar at the begining
Sorry guys! I have been a slacker lately on updating the blog, parially because my computer has been not letting me do so, partly because I have been really busy, and partly because I have not taken very many pictures lately.
The last weekend of July, our good friend Pete Farrar came over to help us with the electrical work. He is an electrican, and was a great help to us. Adam said it was so nice to have someone help that knew exactly what he was doing. Pete was in charge this day. Pete would do the upstairs, and Adam would do the downstairs. We also had William, Don, and Dan Allen over to help as well. They were all so helpful. It was an exciting day for us, as we got so much done. I worked night shift that whole weekend, so I was sleeping during most of the action. However, I would wake up every now and then, and walk out to the house and was amazed by all the progress. Thank you so much to everyone that helped! Here are some pictures from the weekend!

Caulking the Windows (Finally)
Master Bedroom's Bathroom Shower
July 09:
One of the things we are most excited about is our bathroom---especially the walk-in shower. Since Adam works at Delta Faucet Company, we will be getting some very nice shower heads. Actually we will have 2 shower heads, plus some body sprays. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another angle.
